Scout Days are opportunities for Scouts and their families to receive discounts on events with our community partners. Many of our partners also offer merit badge classes and advancement workshops for Cub Scouts and Webelos.

Participants of the 2018 Missions Scout Nights will have the special opportunity to show off their uniforms during the National Anthem as every Scout in uniform will have the opportunity to stand on the field. The $25 registration fee includes an all you can eat HEB tailgate party one-hour before the game, reserved seating for an exciting San Antonio Missions game, a newly designed commemorative Scout patch, and sleepover on Nelson Wolff Field. Children 2 and under are free.

June 16 and July 21, 2018

Typhoon Texas Waterpark is home to the state of the art waterpark in Katy, Texas. The Scout Day package is $30 per person which includes admission, a hamburger meal, patch, and an unlimited drink pass. Units can participate in this program using the All Summer Long package for $35 per person. The unit leader purchases the tickets and then emails Andrew.Boettcher@typhoontexas.com the unit number and the number of Scouts prior to the event. The patches will be available from the front gate specialists on the day of the event. Show the printed tickets at the will call window to pick up the wristbands and meal tickets.

Comicpalooza is the best multi-format pop culture con in the southwest. There is literally something for everyone – from the smallest niche to the broadest of fandoms. Your ticket entitles you to diverse programming, shopping, and gaming over 1.2 million square feet of space. Enjoy celebrity panels, watch films, meet artists, writers, and publishers. Enjoy great entertainment and participate in all things cosplay. There’s a lot to do and only three days to do it! 

Celebrity guests from our favorite movies, television series, comics, and literature will answer questions, share their stories, engage audiences in Q&A sessions, sign autographs, and take photographs with fans. This year, we welcome a star-studded lineup including Tom Holland who plays Spider-man in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, Charlie Cox who plays Daredevil and Krysten Ritter who plays Jessica Jones in the Netflix Series about the characters, alongside other notable guests including LeVar Burton, John Cusack, Michael Chiklis, Jeri Ryan, Brent Spiner, Edward James Olmos, Walton Goggins, Ray Park, and Ross Marquand! Focused on children aged 3-12 years old, the Kid’s Room includes a blend of inspiration, learning, and fun, and includes read-alongs, drawing lessons, and a kid’s cosplay show! You may even get to see a superhero or two when you stop by.

NASA will also be in attendance with a panel that includes Astronaut Kjell Lindgren, a dedicated room with ongoing presentations, and a special exhibit on the show floor.  Comicpalooza’s Maker’s Space is a wonderland for the creative and the curious, the inventive and the technical. Cosplayers, artists, engineers, mathematicians, and scientists of all ages are able to envision, create, and build using old and new technology, from small electrical parts to towering 3D printers. It even includes a Kid’s Zone play area! In addition, there are panels, workshops, and discussions covering popular trends and obscure topics; a film festival, gaming tournaments, cosplay contests, a live art auction, and live entertainment along with many other activities. The exhibit hall is filled with specialty retailers for comics, popular artists, and exciting games.

Watch the Sugar Land Skeeters beat the York Revolution. There will be a special pre-game parade, post-game fireworks, and a Comic Book giveaway (Bedrock City Comics) for the first 2,000 fans! Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and their families can spend the night at Constellation Field, watch a movie on the Texas-sized video board, and enjoy a midnight snack and complimentary breakfast. The Sugar Land Skeeters are an American professional baseball team located in Sugar Land, Texas. They play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB). Battleship Texas State Historic Site (LaPorte, TX)

Battleship Texas took part in some of the most significant naval battles of the 20th century during both world wars. Now docked along the Houston Ship Channel, she serves as a memorial to those turbulent times. Come walk her decks, and imagine life as a sailor! Explore the battleship on your own or on a guided tours. Visit the ​San Jacinto Battleground, Monument Observation Floor and San Jacinto Museum of History. Groups can spend the night aboard the ship as part of the Battleship Texas Youth Overnight Education Program. Sleep in the crew quarters, tour parts of the ship closed to the public, and experience life as a sailor during World War II.

Bricks4Kids

Bricks4Kidz Cypress offers various programs where children build and design simple machines, famous landmarks, catapults and robots using LEGO Bricks. While exploring engineering, architecture and physics, students will develop problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Students will work in a lab-type setting using LEGO® bricks with an integrated curriculum based on math and science. For children to play and socialize with friends while learning fundamentals of engineering and architecture in a non-competitive setting. Gigglin' Marlin Dive & Swim Merit Badge Classes

Gigglin' Marlin Dive & Swim offers a variety of merit badge classes for Boy Scouts taught by registered merit badge counselors throughout the year. Classes include the Lifesaving, Swimming, Scuba Diving Merit Badges and many more. These are not give-away merit badges, and this is not a merit badge factory. Each Scout is expected to fulfill all the requirements by reading the merit badge book ahead of time, attending classes and doing prerequisites. Scouts are expected to participate fully in the class in order to receive full credit for the requirements completed.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Scout Classes

The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center offers a variety of workshops for Scouts. Scouts investigate the nature sanctuary with a naturalist and learn about the fascinating ecology of the forest. All of the Scout programs are conducted by staff naturalists and use the nature sanctuary as a field laboratory for hands-on explorations!

  • Bears can work on the Fur, Feather, and Ferns adventure.
  • Webelos can work on the Webelos Into Wild adventure.
  • Boy Scouts can work on the Bird Study merit badge and conduct Eagle Scout projects.
  • Scout groups can take a one-hour guided hike through the woods called a Forest Trek. Along the way, Scouts look for wild animals and their habitats, and learn to identify signs of nature.

Health Museum Scout Classes

The Health Museum offers a variety of classes for Scouts. Private classes can also be scheduled for groups of 10 or more Scouts on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Webelos Scouts and can work a variety of advancements.
  • Boy Scouts can work on several different merit badges.

HMNS Scout Classes

The Houston Museum of Natural Science offers a variety of classes for Scouts.

  • Tigers, Wolves, and Bears and Webelos Scouts can work towards Adventures in two-hour classes. Up to two classes can be taken in one day and entrance to the general exhibits is included for the Scout and one parent/chaperone. Classes are offered throughout the school year on Saturdays.
  • Boy Scouts can work on 19 merit badges, including five Eagle Scout required badges. All classes use the resources at the museum’s disposal to help Scouts meet requirements.
  • Scout Overnight is an opportunity for Scouts to spend the night at the museum. Scouts have an exclusive adventure through the museum exhibit halls, with activities and a special program in the Burke Baker Planetarium, where Scouts have a clear night adventure under the stars!
  • Summer Scout Academy are week-long classes, held during the summer for Boy Scouts, Webelos, Bears, and Wolves. A total of 42 different merit badge class are being taught by registered merit badge counselors.
  • STEM/Nova Day is held annually in September. Scouts of all ages have access to the museum at a discounted rate while working towards requirements for Nova Awards.

Houston Zoo Overnighters

The Houston Zoo offers a spend the night at the zoo for a unique, after-hours experience which includes interactive activities, touchable animals, pizza dinner, Scout advancements on certain nights, and a continental breakfast!

Merit Badge Days are an opportunity for Boy Scouts or Venturers, of any rank, to work on several merit badges. Classes are taught by adults with experience in the field. The following districts typically hold merit badge events:

Bayou Land Conservancy offers free workshop opportunities for Scouts to work on advancement requirements in a unique manner while having a hands-on experience outdoors. iFly Scout Discounts

iFLY makes the dream of flight a reality with indoor skydiving in a safe and fun environment. iFLY offers special rates and programs for Scout outings! STEM summer camp programs are available for Scout groups of 20 or more and participants will receive a special iFLY patch. Sea Star Base is a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art seaside facility in Galveston, Tx. Explore the diverse natural wonders of the Texas Gulf Coast marine environment. Master the maritime skills needed to navigate the open ocean. Discover the value of teamwork when working with your crew and meet old friends and new ones. ​Cub Scouts can attend Splash Weekends to earn requirements towards the new aquatics program and a variety of STEM / Nova classes. Boy Scouts can attend weekend adventures and summer high adventure activities. Adventures include a variety activities such as kayaking, small boat sailing, big boat sailing, beach volleyball. scuba diving, crew-to-crew competition, STEM/Nova courses and more.
